A blue shield with a yellow bee. Underneath, the words Department of Care and Repair

It is 2035 . Government works differently.

The Department of Care and Repair is committed to achieving ambitious goals for human and planetary health. It exists to champion a long-term, reparative approach to the most pressing social and environmental challenges of the coming 100 years, focussed on outcomes, not activities.

Urgent policy initiatives for the next century include, but are not limited to:

  • developing and maintaining the skills and infrastructures necessary for life in the climate emergency;

  • repairing and building social connection;

  • cultivating the social and economic conditions of that enable more people to live healthy lives, including good food, good work, clean air, affordable housing;

  • rethinking borders and global population flows on a heating planet;

  • supporting sustainable, rights-respecting approaches to innovation.

The Department of Care and Repair needs your help.

These are expansive challenges that need to be shaped and tackled by everyone, so we're collecting policy proposals for how to reshape policymaking for the years ahead.
